The Financial Doctor

The Financial Doctor  undertakes specific one-off bits of work for clients ('patients') who are not as healthy financially as they might be.

Visiting the Doctor early enough to access remedial support will result in a successful recovery, so make an appointment now to see The Financial Doctor.

Using specially designed tools, the Financial Doctor will

  • review and assess the financial health of the client
  • diagnose the underlying problems which have resulted in the client's ill-health
  • prescribe remedies for the condition via a detailed report
Having discussed the options with the 'patient', The Financial Doctor will usually:
  • undertake 'surgery' leading to the client's recovery and good health. This typically involves working  to turn the business round and helping to ensure that the client stays on the right track.

To ensure that corrective action remains successful, The Financial Doctor will:

  • undertake a follow-up review at a suitable future date.
Following a review with a client, they emailed to say "Thanks. It was a really useful session. It felt like going to see the GP for a thorough check. It certainly helped me to think about what I should be focusing on."

The Financial Doctor recently came across an interesting quote that sums up his approach.

On p56 of his book Bean Counters, Richard Brooks writes::

Charles Waldo Haskins - co-founder of the largest US firm at the end of the nineteenth century Haskins & Sells [now Deloitte] - considered an accountant to be 'the consulting physician of finance and commerce.' ... In Haskins' view, it was essential that an accountant 'understands the anatomy and physiology of business ...[and] diagnoses abnormal conditions and suggests approved remedies'.
